The Portal – Medwyn Goodall

Under a thunderstorm soaked sky an ancient portal awakens and in that instant beckoned us to the stars and beyond....

A dazzling journey of the imagination. With influences from Vangelis and Jarre, Medwyn creates an inspired album that is majestic, dramatic, packed with new sounds and invention.

Designed to play as one continuous piece the music weaves through variations on a theme
and a real-time rainstorm blends to create an amazing atmosphere.

I own no less that 10 of Medywn’s CDs and EACH ONE is my favorite. Haven’t bought a CD of late but after hearing The Portal knew I had to add this one to my ever growing collection. This one is totally different from all the others I have and I am blown away by “The Event”. Congrats again to Medwyn for introducing a most different album, one with a completely different beat and sound. You’ve done at again Medwyn and I thank you for keeping the music going, and going, and going…………………..

    Best regards, Terry Oquinn

    Dear Medwyn,

I just wanted to thank you for your music; most of which helps me sleep. And I sometimes have nice dreams as a result :-)

I would say Totem and Goddess Power are two of my favorites. Especially Goddess Power. That’s my jam. It’s THUNDEROUSLY AWESOME and an absolute blast to listen to during a thunderstorm!!!

Keep the good music coming! We appreciate you!

Both “The Portal” and “Beautiful World” – Brilliant, Ingenious
    Futuristic, avant-garde, inspiring/spiritual,
    Please keep at it!

Medwyn the first Medicine Woman was 1994, it is perfect and a masterpiece, would it benefit from a remastering with 2016 remastering techniques? I don’t know just wondering but if so please consider, it’s a sublime record.

    Hello Mitch,
Sadly that can’t be done. Most of the early 90’s albums were recorded on 8 track tape, and I no longer have the tapes nor the machines they were recorded on. It was the end of the analogue age and my studio today is entirely digital. Best Wishes :) Medwyn

Are you doing anymore work like the Medicine Women collection. There the best I reckon :) So relaxing :)

    Hi There,
YES of course! It is a constant evolving circle of flowing from sequels, to trying out new styles and ideas, back to favourite styles my audience has. There is already an album called “IMMORTAL” developing which is very typical “Medwyn”, like Earth Goddess, Earth Healer, Medicine Woman, Great Spirit, Moon Goddess, Priestess – Warm, a little ethnic, a return to Panpipes, Spanish guitar, percussion. – Best Wishes
    Medwyn

Always good to hear another album from Medwyn Goodall, I loved Beautiful World and now we have been given The Portal. From a Starseed soon to return home, all I can say is thank you for your beautiful music through the years wonderful Medwyn , Yours has always been the music I turn to when I need to forget the harshness of this world.

I’ve been following Medwyn since I went to Cornwall to visit his store which was unfortunately closed a couple of weeks before I was there. I have all his CD’s (hardware of iTunes) but Portal is one that jumps out! It immediately brings me back to the 80’s electronic genre (in which I grew up) but mixed with this lovely atmosphere only Medwyn can bring into music. It’s been on my headset for the last couple of days almost non-stop.

What a fabulous album so different from Medwyns other work, how does he continue to produce such stunning albums.Definitely a touch of Vangelis and Jarre but much better. This is another one to add to our favourite Medwyn albums, superb. We have been collecting from The Way of the Dolphin, originally bought on cassette and dont think we have missed one since.
