Medicine Woman – The Lost Tracks – Medwyn Goodall

Medwyn Goodall discovered in his private collection of studio recordings, notes, and tapes, a collection of ideas for many of his earlier albums including the original Medicine Woman. Among the ideas were never before heard tracks that were originally made for the album but not included nor released. Restored and re-recorded this is the very rare opportunity to hear the missing tracks from the original album. Like stepping into a time machine, the original album now continues with a further 6 tracks from 1992.

Back in the 90s I came across this cassette “Medicine Woman”. It was instant love, I played it 10 times in a row! These six tracks take me back to that time. The music is hauntingly familiar yet refreshingly new and highly invigorating. Just like the original I just can’t get enough. This is the Medwyn music I fell in love with. Medwyn’s great talent is his ability to blend the sounds from several instruments yet give each one its own voice. These tracks provide that to perfection. Thank you so much, Medwyn for this great gift. May you “discover” other lost tracks as well

Hi Medwyn This new album “The lost tracks ” absolutely fantastic just as the first ” Medicine Woman – 1 & 2 were, love the keyboard sounds and electronic voices they gave me shivers of elation as when I first heard them, please find some more tracks?

I agree with Drew my favourite album of yours of all time is ” Great Sprint ” please please Medwyn would you create a ” Great Spirit 2 “, also if you find any lost tracks to re-record from the original album?.

Thank you as always for your heavenly music and creative genius.

    Hilary Anne.

I just purchased MW6 via iTunes and will purchase the lost tracks as I love the South American inspired themes in preference. Listening to MW6 whilst working away and everyone in the office loved it.
I would dearly love to see a sequel to Great Spirit. It is my all time favourite album of yours and have been actively listening to it for over 20 years! Many thanks!
    Drew

I doubt that Medicine Woman 6 can be bettered- so many layers and changing direction with twists and turns adding to this albums Life. Full of energy yet so relaxing at the same time drawing you into it’s environment with all that includes (birds, running water) it is totally mind- blowing. Medwyn is nothing short of a musical magician. Thanks for the most chilled out time I have had in years. The MW series has matured with age – I loved the original lol
Any chance of a MW7 or has it run it’s course now??

    NOTE: REPLY FROM MEDWYN

Thank you ! There will be more Medicine Woman’s yes :) Definitely a number 7. It is an on-going series that somehow seems to mature and evolve in a very natural way. Which is why I leave 4-5yr gaps between them, to keep them fresh. :))

Today i received this CD. the music is again like i remember en like all the Medecin Woman CD’s (exept n° 6).
It’s brings you in a state from wich you don’t want to return to reality. Especially like today in the world.
    Thanks again from Belgium lover.

I’ve just been listening to the samples, and I’m very much looking forward to hearing the whole album. As you say, it’s like a time machine. Listening to these excerpts, I can close my eyes and feel as if I’m walking along Glastonbury High Street in the 1990s, when Nag Champa wafted out of every open doorway, and the sound of Medicine Woman was everywhere. What a lovely thing it is that you’ve discovered and re-recorded these tracks. Despite the passage of years, and even though I’m only able to hear the samples at the moment, it’s obvious that the spirit of the music has been recaptured superbly well. Many thanks for doing this: hidden treasure rediscovered, at no mistake.
